KOCHI: The investigation team has started collecting evidence with Dominic Martin, the accused in the Kalamassery blast case. The collection of evidence started after reaching the family house at Athani in Aluva around 9.30 am today. Heavy police security was arranged for the accused. The accused kept the materials for bomb making at the family house in Athani. The explosives were wrapped in a plastic cover. Local materials were used for the making of the bomb.

The accused gave a statement to the investigation team that the bomb was made on the terrace of this house in the morning. No one is staying in this house. None of the neighbors noticed Dominic there. The police conducted evidence gathering with the accused in a two-storied house adjacent to the national highway.

Evidence collection in Athani is crucial in the case as the bomb was made in this place. The police are also investigating whether the bomb was first experimented here. After collecting evidence in Athani, the accused will be taken to the house in Thammanam where the accused was staying. The investigation team headed by Kochi DCP Sasidharan is conducting the evidence collection of the accused.

Meantime, Dominic Martin's confessional video was shot at Miracle Residency Lodge near Koratti Town. He stayed here only for fifteen minutes and shot on his mobile phone. Later, after traveling 14 km on a bike, he reached the Kodakara police station and surrendered.

Dominic, who came with his identity card, took a room at the Miracle Residency Sunday morning at 10:30 am. The manager told police that he stayed in room number 410 on the fourth floor. He came down after 15 minutes and said that his relative met with an accident and has to leave immediately.

The police believe that Dominic, who came out of the lodge, were in search of the police station. The officials concluded that Dominic might not have noticed Chalakudy police station when he crossed the river bridge and went through the two flyovers on the national highway. Otherwise, he would have surrendered before the Chalakudy police. Police sealed the room where the accused was staying in the lodge yesterday morning. Later, the accused was brought here and evidence was taken.
