KOCHI: The Ernakulam Principal Sessions Court has remanded Dominic Martin, the accused in the Kalamasery blast case until the 29th of this month. The court found the accusations against the accused to be serious. Dominic has been moved to Kakkanad District Jail. The investigation team presented the evidence they collected in court.
Dominic informed the court that he doesn't require a lawyer to represent him. The court accepted the defendant's request to handle the case on his own. A lawyer from the Legal Services Authority was present. When asked by the court if he needed the lawyer's assistance, the accused stated that he wanted to speak for himself. He also mentioned that he's in good health and has not been mistreated by the police.
The investigation team informed the court that Dominic should go through an identification parade. The police will submit an application for the identification parade to the magistrate's court today. They'll also request custody after the parade. The police mentioned that they would file the custody application if they haven't finished collecting evidence yet.
Dominic was brought to the Ernakulam Principal Sessions Court at 7 pm. The Investigating Officer, DCPS Sasidharan led the process and it was completed by 7.45 pm. The police team then returned Dominic to the district jail after the half-hour procedure was finished.
