CHANDIGARH: In a shocking incident, an NRI murdered his wife by thrashing her on the floor of the house hours after returning from abroad. The incident took place in Sandhu Chatha village in Kapurthala in Punjab. The NRI named Sukhdev Singh is currently on the run.

Sukhdev had returned from Italy the other day. According to the police, Sukhdev Singh killed his wife Harpreet Kaur (45) after a heated argument broke out between the two. Singh dragged Kaur to his room and allegedly thrashed her head repeatedly on the floor, killing her on the spot.

The police said that they have registered a case in the incident and have initiated efforts to arrest Sukhdev Singh.
