KOZHIKODE: While the rift with the Muslim League continue, leaders of Samastha have announced that they will participate in the Palestine solidarity rally to be organized in Kozhikode on November 11. All the organizations cooperating with CPM are invited to the rally inaugurated by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. CPM District Secretary P Mohanan stated that he has received a positive response from Samastha.
Samastha, a major community organization, was not invited to the League Maha rally which was attended by one lakh people in Kozhikode. Samastha was the first to criticize Shashi Tharoor's Hamas terrorist reference on the League stage. Samastha President Jifri Muthukoya did not forget to make fun of the Thangal League during the district-level prayer meeting held at Mudalakulam of Samasta Kozhikode the other day. If Samasta wants to hold a state-wide Palestine rally, Jifri criticized Kozhikode as not enough.
The conflict between the League and Samastha started when Samastha withdrew from the joint strike committee convened by the League on the issue of the Waqf Board and went directly to the Chief Minister for discussion. Later, all the leaders came to the seminar held by the CPM against the Single Civil Code. This caused a strong protest among the ranks and leaders. Samastha was removed from the Maharally held by the League and distanced itself. With the Lok Sabha elections around the corner, Samastha's CPM friendship is of great political significance
