THRISSUR: Irinjalakuda Mapranam native Joshi, a cancer patient who underwent 21 surgeries, walked 20 km from the Bank to Thrissur Collectorate in a bid to recover his investment in Karuvannur. Joshi and his family have an investment of Rs 82 lakh in Karuvannur.

Thrissur MP T N Prathapan came in support of Joshi who started walking from Karuvannur Bank at 7 am on Wednesday. Social workers M.S. Jafar Khan, Sunil Lalur and Badruddin Waliakat walked along with Joshi.

Midway through the walk, Joshi sought shelter in a bus shed and also reached a tea shop to drink water. When he reached Peruvana with his small entourage, the locals arranged a heartening welcome providing Dosa and tea. Joshi also received receptions at Palakkal, Chovvur and Perumbillissery.

He reached Thrissur at 1 pm and lodged a complaint with the collector. Joshi conducted a hunger strike in front of his house during Thiruvonam day which garnered news.
