KOCHI: A complaint has been lodged against the police for brutally assaulting a 17-year-old boy. Parthipan of Perumbavoor lodged a complaint against two police officers of the Pala station in Kottayam. The student’s parents said that he sustained injuries on his backbone.

On Sunday morning, Parthipan left his home in Perumbavoor with his car to call his friend. When he reached the Pala junction, the police showed hands, but Parthipan said that he did not see it.

When he went ahead with the vehicle, the police chased and caught him. Parthipan said that immediately after being released, instead of asking him whether he had a license they asked him whether he had any drugs with him. The student said that when he said no, he was taken to the station in a car and brutally beaten in a place where there was no CCTV.

However, the police said what the student is saying is a lie. The police claimed that Parthipan was caught for driving without a license and that they had not beaten him. The student is presently undergoing treatment in the hospital.
