THRISSUR: Youth Congress leader Rahul Mamkootathil has accused the teacher who was in charge of polling of sabotaging the recounting in the Kerala Varma College Union elections to defeat KSU. KSU candidate Sreekuttan got 896 votes and SFI got 895 votes. Rahul mocked that the Kerala Varma comrade 'teachers' had found 895 to be the largest through recounting.

KSU leader Ann Sebastian has come forward with strong criticism against SFI and Higher Education Minister R Bindu on the issue. Ann Sebastian's criticism is that the Sangh Parivar style of politics that has overthrown democracy overnight in many states is seen tonight in Kerala Varma where Higher Education Minister R Bindu was the Vice Principal and Principal in charge. Ann said in a Facebook post that time will not pass without labelling you "cruel" for those who support this anti-democratic and anti-human act.

KSU boycotted recounting in Kerala Varma College accusing lack of transparency. Sreekuttan, the chairperson candidate, had earlier alleged that SFI and the teachers' organizations were subverting the election results in the recount. Following this, KSU boycotted the recounting which continued till late at night. After that, the KSU workers returned from the campus. KSU is planning to approach the High Court regarding the incident.
