KOHCI: Another case has been registered against Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar. The Ernakulam Central Police filed a case against him under the non-bailable section. The FIR has been filed under the charges of spreading hatred and trying to create religious rivalry through social media. The case is based on the complaint filed by Congress Digital Media Cell convener P Sarin. This is the second case against Rajeev Chandrasekhar for his comments on social media in connection with the Kalamassery blast.
A case was earlier registered under the non-bailable department against the complaint given by the cyber cell sub inspector to the deputy commissioner of Kochi City. The Central Police registered a case against the Facebook account in the name of Rajeev Chandrasekhar on charges of spreading hatred through social media and trying to create religious rivalry. The FIR said that on the day of the blast in Kalamassery, with the intention and care to create a riot and break the atmosphere of religious harmony in Kerala, he made provocative comments through social media.
The union minister's response was before it became clear what had happened in Kalamassery. Rajeev Chandrasekhar wrote on social media that the explosion is the result of Kerala's politics of inviting terrorists Hamas and giving them a chance for Jihad. The Ernakulam Central Police registered a case based on the investigation conducted by the cyber section of the police and found it to be hate propaganda and filed a report. The FIR mentioned that riots were with the aim of disrupting the peaceful atmosphere in Kerala and propaganda was carried out against a religious group. A non-bailable case punishable with imprisonment of up to three years. Hoever, Rajeev Chandrasekhar's response was that Pinarayi and Rahul Gandhi have united against him and that they are party members who appease terrorist organizations like SDPI, PFI and Hamas.
