Actress and writer Jolly Chirayath has criticized the opening ceremony of the state government's Keraleeyam programme. The note and pictures shared by the actress on social media regarding the presence of women on the opening stage are gaining attention.

The actress criticized the fact that women's presence on the stage was reduced to a mere name.

Jolly asked while sharing the pictures whether Kerala was born after giving birth to this many men. Ministers R Bindu and Veena George and actress and dancer Shobhana were present on the stage, but they were kept behind and the actress shared the note while it was being discussed on social media. Many people including from the film industry have shared Jolly's note.

Even though time has progressed so much, the presence of women seems to be going backwards. Earlier religious organizations were criticized for such matters. But what was seen here? How vulgar are these pictures? Although the presence of the woman is in this photo, it is at one end. Too far to even fit in a frame. Not to mention the ridiculousness of this!

Who do we have the right to criticize when even a program run by a left-wing government is this way? Should democratic organizations do the same thing that religious organizations do? We are now talking about 33 per cent reservation for women. When you see such pictures during such discussions, you feel ashamed'- the actress clarified while responding to the media.
