MUMBAI: India's strong batting lineup set a target of 358 runs for Sri Lanka. India won the toss, chose to bat first and managed to score 357 runs while losing eight wickets within the allotted overs. Key contributions came from Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer showcasing their batting prowess. Ravindra Jadeja played a crucial role in the final overs scoring 35 runs from 24 balls. Shubman Gill was the highest scorer for India with 92 runs followed by Kohli with 88 runs and Shreyas Iyer with 82 runs.

Dilshan Madhushanka was the standout bowler for Sri Lanka, taking 5 wickets while conceding 80 runs. India faced an early setback when they lost the wicket of captain Rohit Sharma in the second ball of the first over, courtesy of Dilshan Madhushanka. However, Kohli and Gill's partnership which added 189 runs for the second wicket revived India's innings.

After the dismissals of Gill and Kohli, Shreyas Iyer accelerated the Indian scoring and he along with Ravindra Jadeja propelled India past the 300-run mark. Following Shreyas's dismissal, Jadeja continued to attack ultimately taking India to a total of 350 runs.
