Ved Ram’s industry, which was started without much investment, earns a profit of crores of rupees today. Paras sells 36 lakh litres of milk in the markets every day and has become an industry that can compete with even leading dairy brands like Amul and Mother Dairy.
Born in 1933, Ved Ram Nagar entered the dairy industry at the age of 27. He started a new initiative in 1980. In 1984, he started a new company that sells milk and other dairy products. The company named VRS Foods was started in 1986. In 1987, a new establishment was started at Sahibabad, Ghaziabad. Ved Ram set up another dairy farm at Nathugari village in Bulandshahr district of Uttar Pradesh in 1992. By 2004, the company’s operations were extended to other regions besides Delhi NCR. Another plant was set up at CH Ved Ram Nagar, Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh.
Ved Ram Nagar passed away in 2005. The name of the dairy farm was changed to Ved Ram and Sons Private Limited in 2008. The company is now known as Paras. Paras has become the leading dairy brand in New Delhi. Now it has started various networks for health and education. Apart from industry, Paras is also active in voluntary service. More than 5400 villages in states like Haryana, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh are connected with the company. The company also provides necessary assistance to lakhs of farmers.
