KOCHI: Police have started an investigation to find those who contacted the Kalamassery blast case accused Dominic Martin, after his return from Gulf. Information on Jehovah's Witnesses members who have been left out will also be collected.

Police said they are also investigating whether Dominik had planned to bomb previous conventions of Jehovah's Witnesses. Information on those who have recently left the church, been disfellowshipped, dissidents, and those who opposed the leadership are being gathered. The aim is to determine whether the explosion was planned because of external motivation or support.

Information on past prayer groups, meetings, and conventions of Jehovah's Witnesses is aslo being collected. The aim is to find out if Dominic participated in these. Statements of those who saw him at the convention in Kalamassery will also be taken.

Application not filed

Police is yet to submit an application to the Magistrate's Court to conduct a parade to identify the accused. It has been decided to hold the parade next week. After the parade, the accused will be taken into custody and the evidence collection will be completed. There will be more questioning.

18 people under treatment

The health department said that the condition of three people injured in the blast is still critical. Out of 18 under treatment, 13 are in ICU. A person suffering from mental trauma following the blast is also undergoing treatment at the medical college.
