THRISSUR: A woman, who had been undergoing treatment for scrub typhus in Thrissur, died on Thursday. The deceased has been identified as Omana (63), the wife of Kanjani native Kumaran. Omana got infected with scrub typhus on October 7. Following this, she had been undergoing treatment at the Thrissur Medical College Hospital.

It is not clear from where Omana contracted scrub typhus. The main symptom of the disease is black patches on the body. It can also cause headaches, fever, cough and muscle aches.
