KOCHI: The first phase of the identification parade for the Kalamassery blast case accused, Dominic Martin is now complete. Three out of over ten witnesses who were present yesterday successfully identified the suspect. This process was conducted in the presence of an Ernakulam Judicial First-Class Magistrate.

The proceedings began at 3.15 pm in the special hall at Kakkanad District Jail and concluded within half an hour. Eleven witnesses easily recognized Dominic as he stood among the prisoners. Among those present were two individuals who had attended a regional convention of Jehovah's Witnesses and a young resident from the defendant's apartment in Athens. The remaining witnesses will participate in the identification parade today.

Furthermore, an investigation is underway to determine if Dominic had targeted previous Jehovah's Witnesses conventions. The accused has claimed that the bomb blast was planned abroad. To investigate this claim, his fifteen years of life in Dubai and financial transactions will be scrutinized. The investigative focus also includes people who recently left the Jehovah's Witnesses community to determine if the accused received external inducements or assistance.

The investigation team intends to file an application in the Ernakulam Principal Sessions Court today or tomorrow to take Dominic Martin into custody allowing for his detention for up to seven days. Dominic Martin's remand period is set until the 29th of this month.
