PUNALUR: A woman was injured after falling into a gutter with her five-month-old son after coming out of an Akshaya Centre. The woman has been identified as Anitha (34), a resident of Mullamala quarters of Kerala State Farming Corporation. Her son Akshit was not injured.

Anitha was admitted to the Punalur Govt Taluk Hospital. The accident happened in Aikarakonam last afternoon. Anith and family had come to renew the Aadhaar card of her husband Anoop. Then, when Anoop stepped on the bar of the concrete slab while stepping out to the road, the mother and the child fell to a depth of about three feet. Anup, Akshaya Kendra staff and locals pulled them out.
