BENGALURU: A rain-soaked day at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru ended in drama as Pakistan won by 21 runs under the Duckworth-Lewis rule in one of the most intriguing matches of the tournament. Batting first, New Zealand thrashed the Pak bowlers mercilessly and scored a mighty 401 for the loss of six wickets in the allotted 50 overs.

Pakistan was valiant in the chase and scored 200 runs for the loss of just one wicket in 25 overs, in a match that was repeatedly interrupted by rain. Opener Fakhar Zaman scored an unbeaten 126 off 81 balls, while skipper Babar was resolute and scored 66 off 63 balls.

With this heroic victory, Pakistan has revived their dream of getting a berth in the semifinals of the World Cup tournament. Albeit their marvellous chase, there is concern regarding the pathetic bowling form that has gripped Pakistan. The most embarrassing of the bunch was Harris Rauf. Fast bowler Harris had to concede 16 sixes in this World Cup. With this, Rauf got the record for conceding the most number of sixes in a World Cup tournament.

Zimbabwe's Tinashe Panyangara conceded 15 sixes in the 2015 World Cup, the biggest record so far. India's Chahal and Afghanistan's Rashid Khan are at number three position and have conceded 13 sixes in the 2019 World Cup.

Harris Rauf is also the player who conceded the most runs in this World Cup. Harris took 13 wickets and conceded 469 runs. In today's match, both the top bowlers of Pakistan conceded close to a hundred runs. Rauf conceded 85 runs in 10 overs while Shaheen Shah Afridi conceded 90 runs. Hasan Ali conceded 82 runs in 10 overs.
