young-man-death

KOLLAM: A young man tragically drowned during an outing with his friends on Munroe Island. Lalkrishnan (28) from Bina Sadanam, Kadaikkal Pangalukadu, who worked as a junior health inspector at Seethathodu Primary Health Center in Pathanamthitta, passed away. He experienced an epileptic episode while in the water.

The incident occurred yesterday at 2:30 pm at Muttatam, a watery area near the confluence of Kalladayar and Ashtamudikayal, close to the Idiyakadavu Bridge on Munroe Island. According to the police, Lalkrishnan had visited Munroe Island with six friends. After reaching the Cherikadavu Thuruth near Arinallur Kadav, a flat area with muddy water, they spent a considerable amount of time there before deciding to go for a swim.

While Lalkrishnan was taking photos on his mobile phone, he became disoriented and fell into the water, displaying signs of an epileptic seizure. His friends quickly retrieved him and transported him back to Idiakkadavu. Due to the inaccessibility of the area by vehicles, they had to use a boat. During the journey, Lalkrishnan vomited blood while trying to expel the water from his stomach.

Upon reaching Idiakadavu, he was taken to Kundera Taluk Hospital first in an auto-rickshaw and then transferred to an ambulance, but unfortunately, his life could not be saved. His body is now at Kundera LMS Hospital. Lalkrishnan had been working as a health inspector for six months and was unmarried.
