TEL AVIV: Israel's airstrikes on refugee camps continue, making life a living hell for civilians in Gaza. 38 people were killed and many injured in an airstrike on the Al-Maghazi refugee camp yesterday. This comes after the killing of 15 people in the attack on the Jabalia camp.

Israel's ground, air and naval forces have so far destroyed more than 2,500 Hamas sites. Yesterday, Israel allowed people to evacuate to southern Gaza via the Salah al-Din road. A water tank east of Rafah was destroyed in an airstrike. An explosion also occurred at the entrance of Al Nasr Children's Hospital in Gaza City. Ambulances were attacked, preventing the transport of the wounded through the Rafah border to Egypt.

Ceasefire: Arab world and US on two levels

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken met with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in the West Bank yesterday. Blinken had held talks with Arab leaders in Jordan the other day. Abbas said that there is an urgent need for a ceasefire in Gaza and that humanitarian aid should be delivered. Arab leaders also asked Blinken about this. The US position is that the ceasefire will be an opportunity for Hamas to regroup. Blinken, however, reiterated the need for a humanitarian 'pause' to deliver aid and release hostages.

Nuclear bomb will be dropped, Minister

Israel's Heritage Minister Amichai Eliyahu has warned that Gaza is likely to be nuked and that Palestinians may go to Ireland or deserts. The controversial remark was made in a radio interview. Subsequently, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that the minister had been suspended from cabinet meetings and that the minister's statement was untrue. Opposition leader Yair Lapid demanded the minister's dismissal.
