BENGALURU: A geologist was found murdered in Bengaluru. KS Prathima, a 43-year-old deputy director of the Karnataka Mines and Geology Department was killed.
She was discovered dead at her house in Bengaluru. Police reported that she was strangled and attacked with a weapon. The forensic team conducted an investigation and it is suspected that the mining mafia is involved. Police mentioned there is no indication of theft and the investigation is ongoing.
Three special teams have been assigned to the case. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah stated that a thorough investigation will be carried out. Prathima lived in a rented house in Kuvembu Nagar, Doddakallasandra. Her driver dropped her home at 8 pm on Saturday. Prathima's brother tried to contact her by phone last night and yesterday morning but he received no response. Then the body was discovered. This incident occurred while Pratima's husband was away in his hometown, Thirthahalli.
Pratima was alone in the house. The police suggested that those who knew he was alone may have committed the murder. It is unclear whether the attackers were one or more.
The police are actively working to identify the assailants, and they are examining CCTV footage from the area.
Neighbours described Prathima as a friendly person who had been renting the house for the past eight years.
