THRISSUR: The High Court has said that there is no interim order in the petition filed by KSU candidate Sreekuttan against the election of chairman of Thrissur Kerala Varma College. The court also observed that there is some discrepancy regarding the votes polled and that should be understood. The Returning Officer was instructed to produce the election documents. The case will be heard again on Thursday. Even if the chairman takes charge within that time, it will be subject to the decision of the court.

The court asked whether there was any record of declaring Sreekuttan as the winner. Sreekuttan's lawyer replied that it was declared verbally. The announcement was made at 12 midnight after the recounting. The SFI candidate was declared victorious by ten votes. Sreekuttan's lawyer argued that there was outside interference. The court also said that the manager and principal of the college should be made parties.

The court asked how many votes were polled in the chairman election. The petitioner said that no official documents were provided. Sreekuttan also demanded that the winner should be prevented from assuming office. The court also asked if Anirudh had more votes why a recount was demanded and if was there any need for a recount. The university clarified that it can announce the recount without an application using the discretion of the returning officer. The university also explained that Sreekuttan did not produce any evidence. The case was adjourned to Thursday.

At the same time, DCC led a march to Kerala Varma College demanding the resignation of minister R Bindu, who had subverted democracy in the Kerala Varma College elections, and the re-election of the chairman.
