KOCHI: Dominic Martin, the prime suspect in the Kalamassery bomb blast case that killed four people, including a 12-year-old girl, is again in the midst of questions from the special investigation team. Dominic, who was remanded in custody for 10 days, was interrogated at the Kalamassery AR camp under the supervision of investigation team head S Sasidharan from noon.
In this case, both the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and the police are looking for the accused's foreign connections and financial resources. Dominic was asked about this. His statements were not taken at face value by the investigation team.
The investigation team is examining matters including whether the accused, who has been abroad for a long time, has received any kind of financial assistance and has visited any other countries. Forensic examination of the phone used by Dominic, who was active on social media, is ongoing. The interaction of the accused in social media such as WhatsApp and Facebook is also being investigated. The investigation will also focus on Martin's wife's statement that he received mysterious phone calls the night before the explosion.
Evidence collection tomorrow
The interrogation will continue today. The remaining evidence collection will be done tomorrow. Dominic will be brought to the Zamra Convention Center in Kalamassery where the blast took place. The suspect will also demonstrate how the IED was planted and how it was detonated. Evidence will be taken from the establishments and places where electrical materials and petrol were purchased to make the IED bomb.
Dominic had informed the police yesterday that he made the bomb all by himself and did not get anyone's help. The bomb blast took place on the 29th around 9.45 am.
