PALAKKAD: A YouTuber was arrested for promoting alcoholism in Cherpulassery. The arrested is Akshaj of Cherpulassery. The excise raided his house following a complaint that he was shooting videos promoting alcoholism and circulating them through his YouTube channel.

The camera used for recording the video, noise reduction mike, the laptop used for video editing and for uploading it in the YouTube have been taken into custody. The excise has earlier registered a case against him for publishing the video promoting alcoholism. Following an inspection, 20 liters of wash and 5 liters of wine prepared for illegal wine production were recovered from his house.

The case was registered by a team led by Cherpulassery excise inspector S Sameer. Preventive officer K Vasantha Kumar, grade preventive officers V Jayadevanunni, N Badruddin, woman civil excise officer R Indrani and excise driver T Vishnu participated in the raid. The accused produced in the court have been remanded to Ottappalam Sub Jail.
