CHENNAI: A Malayali bike racer, who circulated the morphed obscene images of his former girlfriend on social media, has been arrested. Aldrin Babu (24) of Thrissur was arrested from Coimbatore. The accused was a regular presence in the Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship. The arrest was registered on the complaint filed by the woman on October 30.

The woman, who hails from Coimbatore, and Aldrin were in a relationship for quite some time. However, she severed ties with him two years ago. He requested her to continue the relationship, but she did not oblige to it. Reports said following that, the accused circulated her morphed pictures. Seeing her pictures, the woman lodged a complaint with the cybercrime police. The pictures were uploaded on a fake Instagram account started in her name.

It was found that the images were uploaded from Aldrin's mobile phone in an investigation conducted following the IP address. The police informed that the accused has confessed to the crime and his mobile phone and laptop have been found. The police also added that Aldrin's bail plea has been rejected by the court.
