THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that the first Keraleeyam program, which called out the pride, beauty and culture of Kerala, was a huge success. Speaking at a press conference in Thiruvananthapuram, he said that preparations have started for the second Keraleeyam. The Chief Minister also said that the cabinet meeting has formed an extended committee with the Chief Secretary as its chairman. Pinarayi also requested the opposition to participate in the second Keraleeyam without boycotting it.
The Chief Minister also said that the central government was severely harming the state's economy. Through this, the state suffered a shortfall of Rs 57,400 crores in its revenue.
"The state plunged into a major crisis after the Centre reduced the borrowing limit. No matter what happens, the state government will not back down from welfare schemes. The revenue of the state will increase. The state is moving forward by reducing unnecessary expenses," the CM said.
