THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has reacted to the controversy in connection with the Aadimam exhibition held in the Keraleeyam programme.

"Aadimam was a platform for folk tribal artists to present their art forms. The Paliya dance of the Paliya tribe from Kumily, Idukki was performed along with the art forms such as Panthakaali, Kalavum Pulluvanpaattum, Padayani, Theyyam, Mudiyettu and Poothanum Thirayum. What is wrong with tribal artists presenting ritual arts in the model as presented by their forefathers?" the CM asked.

Speaking at the press conference, the Chief Minister said that those who circulated the pictures of tribals sitting in the hut prepared as per the instructions of tribal chiefs did not do it with the right intention. The Chief Minister also said that artists who participated in Keraleeyam were those who had collaborated in several programs within and outside Kerala through the Folklore Academy.
