MUSCAT: Customs seized 11,500 bottles of illegal liquor from the residences of expatriates in the Al Batin governorates of north and south Oman. The raid took place in the Suhar and Barka districts, where migrant workers live. Customs officials reported a significant amount of illicit substances being confiscated, including a truck full of alcoholic beverages. The operation was carried out by the Oman Compliance and Risk Assessment Department.
In recent times, customs checks have been intensified across Oman. The Royal Oman Police arrested three expatriates for smuggling drugs into Oman yesterday. The individuals were caught transporting over 50 kg of crystal meth in a bottle. These arrested individuals are of Asian nationality, and legal actions have been taken against them.
