CHENNAI: Police have arrested a prostitution gang which has been organising wife-swapping parties in various cities in Tamil Nadu. Chennai East Coast Road Panaiyur Police arrested eight people who had been organising wife-swapping parties in cities like Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai, Salem and Erode for the past eight years. The arrested people are Senthilkumar, Kumar, Chandramohan, Velraj, Perarasan, Selvan and Venkatesh Kumar.
The gang used to find clients by advertising on social media. According to police, the gang targeted single men and introduced some women to them as their wives. They were then encouraged to switch partners in the name of wife-swapping. The police also stated that the gang used to charge Rs 13,000 to Rs 25,000.
The police also rescued women aged 30-40 years from the gang. The police said that all the women were married and they were lured into a trap by promising a huge amount of money. All the women were sent with their families. It was the locals who reported the information to the police after becoming suspicious of the arrival of numerous men at the residence.
