KOCHI: The motor vehicle department seized four tourist buses that were en route from Kochi to Ooty for a school tour. The motor department's action was taken before the students of Elamakara Government Higher Secondary School went on an excursion. The incident happened at dawn today.

According to officials, the buses were taken into custody because they had not been inspected by the Motor Vehicle Department before leaving for the excursion. When the inspection took place, there were approximately 200 students in four buses. Officials stated that the bus would be released only after the tourist buses' fitness certificates were presented. Instead, the school administration is attempting to arrange transportation for the tour.

According to officials, the motor vehicle department's action has put the children's excursion in jeopardy, but the inspection is for safety. About 200 students arrived at the school early in the morning to go on the tour. Students were also disappointed when the buses were confiscated.
