VIYYUR: Kodi Suni, who was convicted in the TP murder case, has been transferred from the Viyyur high-security jail. He has been transferred to Thavanur Jail in Malappuram. It is reported that Kodi Suni was transferred to jail because of the conflict that took place in Viyyur jail. Suni was transferred to the Thavanur Jail this morning. Thavanur Jail is functioning under the North Zone Jail DIG. It is hinted that the police are planning to transfer Suni from here to Kannur Central Jail

Recently, a group of jail inmates had attacked the staff of the Viyyur high-security jail under the leadership of Kodi Suni. Five people, including four prison officials, were seriously injured that day. The Viyyur police later registered a case under the charges of attempted murder and destruction of public property in the incident.
Deputy Superintendent Sriraman, Prison Officer Vijayakumar, Deputy Prison Officer Omprakash and an inmate were injured in the attack.
