CHENNAI: A petrol bomb was hurled at a temple in Chennai. Police arrested the attacker. The incident took place today at the Veerabhadra Swamy temple in Kothawal Chavadi. The police said that 33-year-old Muralikrishnan, who was running a business near the temple, threw the bomb and he was arrested immediately after the attack. No one is hurt.

Muralikrishnan was drunk at the time of the incident. He said that he had been praying for years but nothing good was happening in his life and that was the reason for throwing the bomb. The authorities said that the police is conducting a detailed investigation. Five sections have been charged against him.

Muralikrishnan cursed the deity and threw a petrol bomb saying that he had been praying to the deity in the temple for four years but was not getting any answer. The police say that he has a criminal background and was undergoing treatment at a drug rehabilitation centre after his imprisonment.

Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu BJP leader K Annamalai came forward against the government. 'A petrol bomb was hurled at the Raj Bhavan a few days ago. There was a petrol bomb attack on the BJP office in Chennai. A petrol bomb was hurled at a temple today. Law and order have broken down in Tamil Nadu. All this is the result of the DMK government's failure," Annamalai responded.
