KOCHI: Evidence collection with the accused Dominic Martin in the Kalamassery blast case will continue today. Dominic would be taken to pumps in the city where he bought bottled petrol along with the IED bomb to add to the impact of the blast. Evidence may also be collected from his house in Thammanam.

Yesterday, the evidence collection took place at electrical establishments in Palarivattam, where materials for making IEDs and plastic covers were bought. Dominic reiterated to the investigating team that the equipment was purchased by saying it was for the children's studies.

The evidence collection started at 9.30 am and lasted for five hours. The resistance, LED, battery and remote controller were purchased from three electrical firms. A bundle of plastic covers was bought from a nearby shop. The owners of the establishment identified the suspect.

Dominic is adamant that he planned and executed the crime alone. Officials have not taken the statement at face value as there are some doubts, including how the bomb was made. The accused has been remanded in police custody till November 15. The evidence was collected under the leadership of Kochi DCP S Sasidharan, ACPs P Rajkumar and PV Baby.
