Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi has also arrived in Saudi Arabia to attend the meeting. This is the first time that Ebrahim Raisi has set foot in Saudi Arabia. Representatives of 22 Arab countries have gathered in Saudi to participate in the meeting. Arab leaders are meeting in Riyadh after being invited by Saudi Arabia.

Apart from the heads of the GCC countries, the leaders of other Arab countries have also reached Saudi to attend the summit. Arab countries, including Saudi Arabia, are aiming for a peaceful solution to the Palestinian issue.

A summit attended by African countries is also likely to be held in Riyadh soon. Israel is not ready to back off from the attack on Gaza despite repeated demands by the Arab states to stop the attack. With this, Saudi Arabia suspended talks on potentially normalising ties with Israel.
