BENGALURU: India unleashed a firework batting display at Bengaluru's Chinnaswamy Stadium on the eve of Diwali. India scored 410 runs against the Netherlands with the loss of four wickets.

Shreyas Iyer (128 not out), K.L. Rahul (102), Rohit Sharma (61), Shubman Gill (51) and Virat Kohli (51) shined with bat on Sunday in India’s final match before the semi-final against New Zealand on November 15th.

After winning the toss and electing to bat, India took off on a perfect note with a hard-hitting opening partnership of Gill and Rohit. Gill was dismissed by Paul Van Meekeren in the 12th over, but Virat Kohli joined Rohit to cement another strong partnership. Captain Rohit Sharma was scintillating with the bat when he opted for an unnecessary shot, only to be dismissed by bowler Bass de Leede. Kohli and Shreyas added 71 runs for the fourth wicket. Later, Van der Merwe clean-bowled Kohli to break the partnership.

The baton was then passed to Shreyas and Rahul who batted responsibly, mounting a humungous total. This is Shreyas Iyer's first century in the World Cup. Shreyas scored 128 runs off 94 balls with 10 fours and five sixes while Rahul scored 102 runs off 65 balls with 11 fours and four sixes. Both Rahul and Shreyas built a partnership of 208 runs.
