UDUPI: Four members of a family in Udupi in Karnataka were found dead today. The deceased Haseena (46) and her children Afsan (23), Aseem (14) and Ayanas (20) were found with stab wounds. The incident occurred in the morning. Haseena's mother-in-law, injured in the attack, is in the hospital with serious injuries.
The motive for the murders remains unclear. Udupi SP Arun Kumar stated that a masked man, who came in an autorickshaw, is believed to be responsible, and a search for the suspect is underway. The auto driver reported dropping off a masked young man near Haseena's house, and CCTV images are being examined.
The autorickshaw driver mentioned leaving the young man with a black bag and a mask near Haseena's house and then seeing him near the auto stand after 15 minutes. Haseena's husband, Noor Muhammad, is currently working in Saudi Arabia.
