THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan implicitly attacked opposition saying some people with evil minds tried to destroy the touted LIFE scheme in the state. The CM later hurled an attack at the central agencies saying their constant presence in the state has influenced many such evil minds.
He was speaking at a key handing over ceremony of 25 houses built by the CPM Kottayam District Committee to those who lost their homes in the Koottickal landslides.
“Some people with ulterior motives tried to stop the LIFE scheme. It was with great enthusiasm that the central agencies flew to Kerala to investigate the matter. But nobody could do anything to stop this project, and the same people who tried to stop it are now standing embarrassed in front of the public” CM Pinarayi said.
The Chief Minister also explained that the government will move ahead with plans to build houses for those in need.
“There was a time in Kerala when welfare pension was arrears for up to 2 years. In 2016, LDF cleared the dues. The pension amount increased to Rs.1600. The Union Finance Minister slammed Kerala saying that providing welfare pension was not government's job. The central government is trying all the ways to bankrupt Kerala. On another note, neither UDF nor BJP is ready to speak against the Governor. The governor is not even signing the law to solve farmers' problems. I can say that the governor has crossed all limits” CM Pinarayi opined.
