TEL AVIV: With no relief from the intense clash across borders, Israel will have to pave the way for the evacuation of babies and other critically ill patients from Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City to other hospitals in safer regions of the country. 12 patients, including two babies in the incubator, died when the electricity went out. There are currently 45 babies in Al-Shifa. Meanwhile, the electricity in Al-Quds Hospital was also cut off.
On another note, Israel is establishing Jewish colonies in a bid to acquire occupied East Jerusalem, other Palestinian territories, and the Golan Heights in Syria. 145 countries, including India, supported the UN resolution condemning the Israeli settlements in Palestine. Great powers like China, Russia, France and Britain also condemned the Israel intrusion. The resolution was brought by the Special Political and Decolonization Committee of the General Assembly.
The resolution also demanded an immediate stop to land grabbing and displacement of people in occupied areas. Hitherto, India had abstained from resolutions against Israel. Meanwhile, Israeli media is reporting chances of a 3-5 day pause in the war which will allow Hamas to release the hostages taken in the war. In the same gesture, Israel may also release some Palestinian hostages including women.
Israel will end the war after taking full control and security of the Gaza strip, stated Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
