THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The PSC meeting has decided to hold single examinations for the posts of LD Clerk and Last Grade, giving relief to the candidates. This is in view of the difficulty faced by the candidates and the inadequacies in grading the questions in the examinations and equalizing the marks. Kerala Kaumudi had reported on May 18 that PSC is planning to skip the Preliminary Examination for LD Clerk and Last Grade.
Rank list will be prepared by conducting the exam on the same day for the district with more candidates and the district with fewer candidates. The exam will be conducted for each district this way. The reform brought by former chairman MK Zakir is being corrected. Preliminary examination for the civil police officer post was also waived earlier. There is also a proposal to waive the preliminary examination for posts like university assistant and sub-inspector. Notification for clerk post will be released on the 30th and for last grade post will be published in December.
Started in December 2020
Exams were split into two phases on the UPSC pattern to reduce the number of applicants and publish the rank list quickly. It was implemented from December 2020.
