KALADY: Relatives and locals were unable to comfort Pradeepan who had only tears to offer to his wife, who died while on treatment after getting injured in the Kalamassery bomb blast.
“ I don’t have any tears left. First I lost my daughter, now my wife, my son is still fighting for life in hospital” said a broken Pradeepan after his wife died on Monday after undergoing treatment for weeks following the Kalamassery bomb blast.
Pradeepan spent two weeks rushing in and out of hospitals hoping that his wife and children would return. But yesterday he froze near his wife's lifeless body. The body was placed for public viewing in the parish hall of St. Thomas Church in Malayattoor. Reena’s mother Mary broke down in tears while giving the final kiss to her daughter. Reena's daughter Libna (12) also died in the explosion on the 29th of October.
Younger son Rahul came home from the hospital two days ago after being treated for burns but was not allowed to see his mother for one last time. Rahul was sitting in the vehicle outside the house with the health workers when the funeral rites were going on. Rahul was not allowed to go out due to the possibility of infection. Sally's body was then buried at the Jehovah's Witness cemetery in Koratty.
