KIZHAKKAMBALAM: A 38-year-old man was arrested by Thadiyittaparambu police on Monday for threatening a third-standard girl with a gun. The incident took place in the Vayaloram area on the Thamarachal Bypass Road in Kizhakkambalam at around 2 pm on Monday. The girl was seated inside the car when the stranger came up brandishing a gun and tried kidnapping the girl.

The girl accompanied her businessman father to his friend's place on Monday when the shocking incident happened. As all of her friends were on a vacation trip conducted by the school, the girl was left alone at home forcing her father to take her along. The girl was busy mired in mobile phone games when one stranger on a bike reached her car and brandished a gun. However, the stranger hurriedly left the place after the girl screamed in fear alerting the locals. The people nearby noted the pulsar bike used by the stranger.

When the locals reached the car, the girl had already passed out in fear. The person on the bike was found in the investigation based on the CCTV footage of the shop. According to the girl, the stranger was wearing a mask but when he removed it to talk, she said his two front teeth were missing.

The child recognized the person in custody. When the police interrogated him, he initially said that he had not left the house. However, when shown the CC TV footage, the accused went silent.
