THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The government has issued an order sanctioning the amount spent for the treatment of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and his wife Kamala. The government has sanctioned an amount of nearly Rs 75 lakh spent in Kerala and the United States from 2021.

More than Rs 72 lakh were spent alone in Mayo Clinic where the chief minister sought treatment. He went to America for treatment in January, April and May last year. Around Rs 30 lakh were spent alone in Mayo Clinic in January 2022.

The chief minister and his wife spent Rs 42,057 at Thiruvananthapuram Legislative Hostel Health Clinic from April 2021 to August. Kamala Vijayan's treatment at the same clinic from April to December 2022 cost Rs 47,769 and that of the chief minister Rs 28,646.

He and his wife also spent Rs 32,905 at the Legislative Hostel Health Clinic from July 2020 to March 2021. The chief minister also sought treatment at the secretariat government ayurveda dispensary in December 2020. The government issued an order sanctioning Rs 74.99 lakhs altogether.
