THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The online meeting of MPs from Kerala called by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan ahead of the Parliament session demanded that the Center withdraw from the process of cutting the loan limit to Kerala.
The MPs will visit the concerned Union Ministers to raise Kerala's credit limit as per the recommendations of the 15th Finance Commission. Along with this, the central ministries and Parliament will be informed about the removal of revenue subsidy due to the state, suspension of GST compensation and non-payment of outstanding compensation. The payment of arrears of central allocation for paddy procurement will also be demanded.
The use of branding for the implementation of centrally sponsored schemes and centrally funded schemes has been made mandatory by the Central Government. There is only a nominal central share in Kerala's LIFE scheme, among others. Not even the logo of the Kerala government is used on them. There has been a demand that the MPs from Kerala should come together and respond to this issue. There should be an intervention by the Center to reduce the huge increase in air ticket prices to Kerala from abroad. Delays in giving security clearance to Sabarimala airport and calling for tenders for the construction of Kozhikode airport despite the acquisition of land also came up in the discussion.
