THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The JD(S) executive meeting convened in Kovalam yesterday by Vice President CK Nanu demanded that party president Deve Gowda should withdraw from the decision to join the NDA alliance at the national level. A letter will be sent to Deva Gowda explaining the matter.
11 state presidents and national executive members of JDS attended the meeting. However, no other leaders from Kerala attended the meeting. CK Nanu said that the action of the Kerala leaders opposing the national executive meeting called by him was a breach of discipline and that the current MLAs were not ready to fulfil the responsibility of saving the party.
"Some people in Kerala are afraid of losing the MLA position. We are the official party. If the MLAs of Kerala do not participate in the National Council meeting to be held in Bengaluru on December 9, they will have to face severe action. We will see Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and give a complaint against them. We expect that the Chief Minister would talk to the leaders in Kerala," he said.
"Deve Gowda's action did not suit the dignity of the party. We will meet Deve Gowda on the eve of the National Council meeting and try to convince him," he added.
