THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A new bus from the Benz Company is being customized to a luxury bus after spending an amount of Rs 1 crore to transport Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and other ministers to Nava Kerala Sadas. Let's see what are the features of the new bus that can carry 25 people at a time.
A total cost of Rs 1,05,20000 is spent for customizing the bus. The new bus will have a separate cabinet for the chief minister to travel. A round table room will be there for holding emergency meetings. There will be an electric mini kitchen facility for preparing light meals for the passengers. A washroom will also be there.
The body of the bus has been built in Karnataka at a cost of Rs 35 lakh. The transport department has not disclosed where the bus is presently. A decision has been taken to display it for the first time during the journey starting on November 18. The bus will be given to KSRTC after Nava Kerala Sadas. The first decision was to modify the seater-cum-sleeper hybrid bus purchased with SWIFT employees' deposit money. However, the decision was changed to make a new bus. It is indicated that the journey of the civic leaders of the MLAs' constituencies will also be in the hybrid bus.
The programme starts from Manjeswaram constituency on November 18. It will end on December 24. The programme will be chaired by the MLAs of each constituency. Freedom fighters, senior citizens, prominent people from various fields, women, youth, students, college union office bearers, talents from Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, artists, filmmakers, award winners, etc. will attend the function.
