THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In the new short lists of PSC for the recruitment of civil police officers, the cutoff mark has been increased and the list has been shortened. Compared to the last main list, more than four thousand people have been dropped. The deficit is made in the list of Pathanamthitta, Ernakulam and Thrissur KAP battalions. The list will be narrowed down once the stage including sports fitness is over. The list of the other four battalions to be published will also have a similar fate.

Pathanamthitta-KAP 3 Battalion shortlist cutoff mark is 46. Only 1309 people are in the mainlist. 2483 people were included in the last main list. The cutoff mark was 36.67 then.

Only 1003 people is in the main list for KAP 1 (Ernakulam) Battalion. Cut off mark was 44. Last short list consisted of 2500 candidates. 27.33 marks was fixed as the cutoff and opportunity was given to maximum number of candidates.

KAP 2 (Thrissur) Battalion cutoff is 45.67 marks. Only 1618 people are in the main list. About 1700 candidates were shortlisted. 3519 people were included in the last short list.

The move of PSC is to reduce the total number of candidates included in the final rank list to half. In the last list, 13,975 people were included in seven battalions. Rank lists related to all departments are likely to be shortened. Delays and candidates not getting appointments were widely criticized.
