KOZHIKODE: Polur ALP school teacher, MP Shaji has been arrested for allegedly breaking into an Eravannoor UP school staff meeting and assaulting the teachers. Shaji, alongside his wife Suprina who also teaches at Eravannur UP School has been suspended for 15 days.
Shaji was suspended by Kundamangalam AEO while Suprina faced suspension from the Eravannur School Manager. Shaji, a member of the NTU district committee was taken into custody by Kakkur police and is currently out on bail. The attack on Monday resulted in injuries to five people, including three teachers.
Suprina's suspension stemmed from a parent's complaint accusing her of slapping a child's face. Shaji's suspension directly relates to his arrest. The school management claims Suprina filed the complaint to implicate another teacher at the school but Suprina denies this assertion.
According to Suprina, the parent submitted a complaint through their child to the class teacher, which was then passed on to the head teacher. Despite this, the matter wasn't addressed adequately, leading to a report being made to Childline. Shaji arrived at the school after the staff meeting had begun and forced the door open following a commotion. Suprina has expressed intentions to take legal action against the suspension.
