THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The central meteorological department said that there is a possibility of heavy rain with thunder and lightning at isolated places in the next three days in Kerala. Cyclone ‘Midhili’ formed in the Bay of Bengal caused the rains. The deep depression over the Bay of Bengal intensified into the cyclonic storm Midhili.

Presently the cyclone is located 190 km east of the Odisha coast, 200 km south-southeast of West Bengal and 220 km south-west of Bangladesh. The meteorological department also said that the cyclone is likely to move in the north-east direction and reach the Bangladesh coast by tonight or tomorrow morning. Meantime, yellow alert has been announced in two districts in the state today.
