LUCKNOW: A cleric in Uttar Pradesh has asked Muslim women not to go to beauty parlours. Mufti Asad Kasmi, a Muslim cleric from Saharanpur district in Uttar Pradesh asked Muslim women not to go to the beauty parlours.
Kasmi said it is forbidden and illegal for Muslim women to go to beauty parlors where men work. Kasmi also clarified that Muslim women should only go to such establishments where women work.
A woman filed a police complaint in Kanpur last month after her husband pronounced triple talaq for threading her eyebrows. The woman lodged a complaint with the police saying that her husband pronounced triple talaq over the phone from Saudi Arabia.
Gulsaiba of Kanpur was the complainant. She said that he noticed her threading her eyebrows during a video call and a fight broke out between the two over it. In between this, he pronounced talaq three times over the phone.
