THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: An order has been issued amending the dependent protection consent statement rules in the dependent employment conditions under the compassionate employment scheme. When applying for appointment as a dependent other than the mother and father of the employee, a declaration of consent to protect the deceased's mother, father, widow and widower for life and to protect the dependent children and siblings till they reach adulthood should be submitted along with the application. The government had approved the amendment in July. The new order was issued by changing the procedures accordingly.
The dependent appointment order was issued in 1978 when C Achuthamenon was the chief minister. At present, 30% of the total government employees come under dependent appointments. It has been alleged that those who have obtained dependent ോജജദഗലൂസാലൂേ do not even protect their aged parents. According to the new order, 25% of the salary of such persons can be seized and given to their dependents. Compensation is also being considered if the dependent cannot be appointed within one year of the employee's death.
