THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Department of Public Education issued a circular regarding the use of school buses by the public until December 23. The circular states that constituent committees of New Kerala Members recommend discontinuing the use of buses by two parties. Organizers will now bear the expenses and driver's fees, as per the circular issued by the Director of Public Education. Copies of this circular have been distributed to all directors.
However, the circular also mentions that school buses remain available for other purposes. This decision faced opposition from teachers, students and organizers. They protested against the government's allowance of school vehicles' use, citing no restrictions in the Department of Motor Vehicles' rules.
The primary concern highlighted was ensuring children's travel without inconvenience. Subsequently, the circular was corrected to emphasize that such use should not occur to safeguard the children's well-being.
