AHMEDABAD: Australia captain Pat Cummins won the toss and chose to bowl against India in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Both the teams will go with the same playing eleven that won the semi-finals. India reached the final by winning 10 out of the 10 matches, but Australia lost two matches.

While Rohit Sharma has got off to a good start as usual, Shubman Gill, who has a fantastic record across formats in Ahmedabad, has fallen early to Mitchell Starc. Virat Kohli is now giving company to the Indian captain.

The final match between India and Australia is in the world's largest cricket stadium in front of packed fans. Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Team India for the final match. Celebrities including Sachin Tendulkar and Neeraj Chopra have arrived at the Narendra Modi Stadium to watch the game.

After losing the toss, captain Rohit Sharma said “we would have batted first. Big game and runs on the board will be key.”


Australia captain Pat Cummins said “the pitch looks dry wicket and have decided to bowl first. Dew is also a key factor during the second half of the innings.”
